More Retreat Photos

I would be remiss if I did not rave about the food they served at Hartland. They have chefs (2!), complete with hats and aprons. wow. Check it out as Chef Mike (I think that was his name) serves us at the omelet bar...

I promised pictures of the projects I "finished" at retreat. I didn't finish them, I just completed the tops. I don't sew well in public - I need quiet to concentrate - so I took a stack of no-brainers with me. The first is this pale blue/orange Double Four Patch. The print has little goldfish, swimming around - they all have names. It cracks me up. :) I finished this on Friday.

The second top I finished was the march of the penguins. It was finished before lunchtime on Saturday.

I saved the most "interesting" for last - I finished the duckie quilt top before retiring for the night on Saturday.

I forgot to take pictures of the 8 log cabin blocks I put together on Sunday, but you can imagine them: blue, gold, Log Cabin. They are leftovers from my daughter's Cal graduation quilt - Go Bears! - and I've still got stacks of blocks leftover... What was I thinking? Did I plan to make a double-king? There are SO many blocks cut. I'll be sewing them from here to eternity... (That's one of the drawbacks of not sewing from patterns...)

I also finished Yellow Charlie. That's it for the Charlie blocks, now I get to assemble the top. This is NOT going to be a show quilt, by any stretch of the imagination. It's just a fun exercise to entertain myself.

And just in case you've forgotten what the boys look like, here they are, crashed on the floor. I haven't moved from my chair, they just really like me. :)

And then there's Malcolm. Just think how insulted he would have been, had I moved from my chair to take a picture of the other boys. yep. It's good to be king.
