Yes and Yes and Fog and Dog and...

I'll begin with the yesses.

This morning I woke up sad, because I'd missed the Paducah deadline. I knew all about it, but I didn't finish my quilt. I didn't even try to meet the deadline. I focused on family, and don't regret a minute of it. But I do have wistful thinking about Paducah. It's always been my dream show, and having work hang there thrills me to the marrow.

I knew I'd entered a couple of quilts in the AQS Lancaster show, but I didn't hold out much hope for them. After all, Road to CA said "No" to both.

But AQS said "Yes!" To both.

See me smile. :)

I do have quilts eligible for competition after all. I've been concerned at my lack of productivity when it comes to show quilts. I have two very good show quilts (in my opinion), but neither is finished or ready for the road. It will still be a while. For me, last year was The Year of the Baby Quilt. I finished quite a number of them. Hopefully this year will be different. I only know of one Very Special Baby getting ready to make her appearance, but other than that? I should finish my show quilts.

Remember yesterday's blue skies? I'd forgotten. Blue sky by day means fog in the morning. It's the valley. It's January. It's a given.

I drove out to the walnuts in my beat up jalopy at 7:30am. This was my view.

Mr. Sun was trying hard to make an appearance.

At the walnuts, the fog was not so dense.

Waiting at the fence was Chupacabra. Her little stub of a tail was going a mile a minute.

She was so relaxed, it's hard to believe she's the same dog.

She LOVES her man. Her favorite place is by his side.

By the time I left, the fog had burned off.

Blue skies and mountain vistas?

Enjoy it now, because that's a sure-fire recipe for fog tomorrow.

And that's a wrap...

Congratulations! Maybe I will get a chance to see them. Chupacabra is such a sweet looking dog.

You know S - I worry too about doing work to enter either locally or nationally. I decided to pick just a couple shows I want to enter this year and go from there. Sometimes when I look at the whole list of shows it seems overwelming - not to mention expensive LOL!! I'll let you know how I do - can't wait to see our entries!

That little dog is so darn ugly she's adorable. Are you sure she's actually a dog? Looks a little extraterrestrial to me.
