Posting has been a bit of a challenge lately. What can one post, when her current project is a guild challenge that needs to be kept under wraps until October? I'm starting to think that if I finish early, I might start entering it in shows. I think it will be that pleasing to me. :) Tease, tease. :)
It's hot here. hot, hot, hot. How hot is it? It's tongue-hanging hot!
I was asked for more pictures of Chupa. That's hard. She's greatly weakened, and doesn't look her best. However, she patiently poses, as I pull out the camera.
Last year was disappointing, when it came to our fruit trees. They hadn't been pruned in years, and we didn't know what we were doing. A peach-farming friend of our son came by, and taught him how to prune the peach and plum trees. wow! Last year we had 3 plums, they all fell off while still green. This year we have dozens, and they are DELICIOUS!
I think the plums are Elephant Heart plums - that's my latest guess - and the peaches are 1.5 times the size of my fist. I have a large fist. :) Both fruits are incredible. My boy can prune those trees any year!! :)
The walnuts continue to hang on the trees. I talked to our farmer on Thursday, and he says we're 5-6 weeks from harvest. ooh! That's coming up soon! We were at a luncheon, hosted by our buyer. They were very generous with their table favors, in addition to the lunch itself. :)
doggone Blogger. flipping my picture. It's a canister for cold fluids, a bag of walnuts & raisins, and the menu from the lunch. I have to say I was impressed.
And so, my summer is filled with fruit and farming. I realize that I should have taken a picture of my friend Elaine's garden bounty. Hang on a minute, I'll be right back...
In contrast, my tomato plant has one tomato on it. It's about the size of my thumb. My son's tomato plant has one tomato on it. It's about the size of my thumb. Both tomatoes are green. I think, perhaps, we should focus on growing other produce.

Thank you, Suzie. I don't want to make Chupa uncomfortable while she poses for you. I'll get these into my "Chupa" picture file and enjoy the pictures I already have.

I have had fewer tomatoes this year than I have ever had in the past. I am not sure why. And like you, I have more plums and peaches than ever. Go figure.
Only good thing about valley heat is the produce and fruit it produces. Love the pictures. Might try to do that reverse double applique with the picture. As far as heat I would like to go around with my tongue hanging out. I hate to sweat.
