Yards of Yellow

After a few weeks immersed in yards of yellow satin and taffeta, this went into the hands of FedEx yesterday:
I am certain it will look better on the recipient than it does on the hanger.  She has a hoopskirt, and gloves.  It's all yellow.  Everyone will know it's Belle, right?  :)

It should arrive at its destination today.  I look forward to her reaction.  Is it what she was hoping for?  I hope so!

I got an email on Monday, about the latest SAQA Journal.  Are you familiar with SAQA?  That stands for Studio Art Quilt Associates, and they have a website here.  They send out a quarterly journal, filled with the work of the members.  I've been a member for a few years, but have not had my work featured.

Aha!  To get your work shown, you have to first submit it!

I had that aha moment a few months back, then completely forgot about it.  Monday's email congratulated me on my quilt.  Say what?  My journal arrived yesterday.
I opened it up, and, looky there!  They DID choose my quilt for part of the layout.  Happy dance, happy dance!  Even my husband recognized it, "That's your quilt!"  (It may have helped that I'd told him in advance, and my name was prominently printed right next to it.)
That's my "big" quilt news for the week.  Then again, it's only Wednesday.  PIQF opens tomorrow, and I do have a quilt in the show.  I'll head up to visit it, along with my daughter's family.  It's going to be a good weekend.  I'm looking forward to it!

Congratulations on having your quilt featured in print. Awesome!

The dress is lovely. You are very brave to tackle a creation with those slippery fabrics that also have a penchant for fraying.
