"Trash" Cards

One of my favorite kinds of postcards to make, is one made with leftover trims and snippets.  I got the idea from Vicki Welsh, who sent me one of her Kitty Litter cards a few years back.  It remains a favorite.  She made it with leftovers from a long-term embroidery project.  She covered the leftovers with tulle, and quilted

 Project leftovers?  I have LOTS of those!

 I pile them on a covered card "blank," and start stitching, sans tulle.

 Once the "trash" has been securely fastened with stippling, I attach a back and satin stitch around the edge.

 Before you know it?  I've turned "trash" to treasure.  Thank you, Vicki, for the inspiration!

It reminds me of Impressionist painting.

I took these photos over a week ago, but haven't had time to post.  The weather is turning, and there are still nuts on the ground.  I'm losing interest, but remind myself that every nut is probably worth a penny, or more.  I've never been one to walk by a penny on the ground...
