Back in November, we went to the Dickens Faire at the CowPalace in Daly City. It was a grand day of Victorian festivities. Many people were dressed in period costume, and all kinds of things were for sale.
My daughter was eye-ing the full-length capes. I told her I could make one for her. "Really?" "Really." It just took me a while.
I spent hours yesterday cutting it out. Today I sewed it together. It was easy, it was just MILES of seams. At least it seemed like it.
I asked hubby to take a picture for me before I ship it off tomorrow.
Hmm. I think I'll take my own pictures.
See? It even has a hood. :)
It's a little too Jedi for me, but I have the feeling Sweetie will like it. We'll find out in a few days.
That's all for now...

I remember making a cape for my daughter when she was in college in NY. My cousin and I hauled the sewing machine in the car, went to a Joanne's, found the fabric, laid everything out on the hotel floor to cut it out, set the machine up on this liitle table with the TV on it and made the cape!! She loved it and I know your sweetie will too.
