Before heading to see little Penelope, we stopped in Davis to see our boys. For some reason they are no longer being mistaken for one another. I wonder why?
We were in Davis for Picnic Day. The whole campus tries to lure people in to see this or that department. We stopped by Entomology, to see the Maggot Art exhibit - ew, gross, I gagged. While there, I saw this photo-op. No one was using it, they were all gathered around the cutouts of butterflies and flowers and fun insects. This one was so wrong, in so many ways, I handed over my camera. I couldn't believe how many cameras whipped out when I stepped onto the stepping stool...
It was later that afternoon, that we headed over to see Penelope. This was her first chance to meet her Uncle Dando. She's yet to meet her other uncles. Life has a way of getting away from you, you know?
When we returned home, I found this lovely, waiting patiently for my return.
This is one of the few iris that I actually purchased. I even know its name, it's Tennison Ridge. All others have been gifts from friends.
And I am REALLY excited to see that another new-to-me iris is coming up. Its nametag fell off, but I've kept the bloom descriptions. I'm hoping that I'll be able to introduce you sometime later this week.
