On The Road Again...

This time I'm south, rather than north and west. It's just about time for Road to CA to open, and I'm helping with a bit of the pre-show busy work. I'll be back home, lickety split, then back to see the show on Sunday. zoom, zoom.

The sun rose as I flew over the Grapevine. Strange to have clear skies in the valley and clouds over LA. (clicking on a picture enlarges it. This one shows gorgeous rays of sunlight, streaming down to the city below.)

When I left yesterday, my lovely icicle was returned to my hot little hands. Hello, my Lovely! I haven't seen you in AGES!! You're looking better than I remembered! Then again, I never even looked at it. I put in the last stitch, shoved it in a box and shipped it away 14 months ago. It's nice to have you home, Baby, even if "home" is a hotel room this evening.

Blogger flipped the picture, but I wanted to show the crystal dew drop at the point, and the fuzzy icy hoar frost on the edges.

The close-up got flipped too. Mr. DeMille, next time do a better job, please.

The icicle had to be two sided. Did you ever see the sleeve I made for it? I thought the lace was a lovely touch. I didn't put many beads or crystals on this side. I ran out of time.

And I guess that's about it. I need to report for duty in 25 minutes. Have a fantastic week, and if you can fit Ontario, CA and the Road show into your schedule, it's always worth a look-see. :)

The icicle piece is beautiful. I saw it hanging at Road last year but it was so high you couldn't see all the details. We're heading down to Ontario tomorrow. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hi, Suzanne -

For the first time in 10 years I'm missing Road. My sister and I usually meet there and stay the whole time. This year I had to choose going home for Christmas or going to Road. I had to choose home because I haven't been there in 15 years for Christmas. I'm so sorry I'll miss meeting you and miss seeing the others from my Guild in Hanford.

Have a wonderful and safe trip and "Hi" to Barbara S.

Blessings,
Diana
